The Farm

The farm is the anchor for this emerging residential community, an agrihood - a neighborhood organized around and celebrating the region’s rich agricultural roots.

Live Oak Farm’s first growing season was 2015. We laid out beds, fed them with rich organic compost, and celebrated our first harvest of tomatoes, greens and herbs.

1,000 fruit trees, including apples, pluots, pomegranates, and persimmons have been gradually added.

From the start, the farm’s founding principles were focused on responsible land stewardship: growing healthy, nutritious food; conservation of water and energy resources; and regenerative farming which sequesters carbon, reversing industrial agriculture’s contributions to climate change. Regenerative farming practices include low- or no-till farming and cover cropping, producing healthier soils.
